A real experience of Write Your French

Your French deserves more than another vocabulary list

You may already understand articles, podcasts and conversations in French. But when you want to express something of your own, the words can feel less available. During this challenge, you will not simply collect new expressions. You will use French to describe, narrate and reflect — then learn directly from your own corrections.

Day 1 · 2 September

Un lieu qui t’est resté en mémoire

Describe a place, but also what happened there and why it has stayed with you.

Day 2 · 3 September

Un moment qui ne s’est pas déroulé comme prévu

Tell a real or imagined scene and give movement to your French through narration.

Day 3 · 4 September

Une chose que tu vois autrement aujourd’hui

Move beyond description to express a more nuanced and personal point of view.

Each morning

A prompt that gives you something real to write

Each activity will be posted in The French Corner, the free Write Your French community. You can write ten lines or several paragraphs. The important thing is to develop a complete thought in French.

What you will receive

  • a short introduction in French;
  • a structured writing prompt;
  • useful expressions and sentence patterns;
  • space to publish your complete text;
  • a personal correction from me on every text you post.

Live masterclass in French

Écrire pour trouver ses mots en français

During this practical masterclass, I will explain why the French you recognise is not always immediately available when you want to speak or write. You will discover how to turn expressions you understand into sentences that belong to you.

There will also be a guided writing period. You will not be asked to read your text in front of the group. If you wish, you can send it to me afterwards for personal feedback.

Can’t attend live? Register anyway. The replay will be sent to everyone who signs up.

Your French will be read with care

I created Write Your French for intermediate learners who love French and want to make it more active, precise and personal. My feedback does more than mark mistakes: it helps you notice recurring difficulties, understand what sounds less natural and identify phrases you can reuse.

The atmosphere is gentle and adult. You do not need to perform, compete or write perfectly.

Questions

Before you join

What level do I need?

The challenge is designed for B1–B2 learners. You should be able to understand clear French instructions and write a connected text, even with mistakes and hesitation.

Will everything be in French?

Yes. The prompts, community posts and masterclass will be in accessible French. This immersion is part of the experience.

How long should my texts be?

There is no imposed length. You can write a few paragraphs or a longer text if the prompt inspires you.

Do I have to share my text publicly?

You need to post your text in The French Corner if you want to receive my correction, but you decide whether to participate each day. You will never be asked to read it aloud during the masterclass.

What if I can’t attend the masterclass live?

You can still take part. Everyone who registers will receive the replay, so you can watch the masterclass when it suits you.

Is the challenge really free?

Yes. At the end of the masterclass, I will briefly introduce Write Your French for anyone who would like to continue this practice every week, but there is no obligation to join.

Write three texts. Receive three personal corrections. Then join a practical masterclass in French.

The first prompt will be posted on 2 September in The French Corner.
